Why We Sell Fine Jewellery in Singapore by Appointment Only

Most fine jewellery in Singapore is sold the same way it was forty years ago. Showroom on Orchard Road, consultant in a fitted blazer, lighting engineered to make every stone glow. The experience is designed to feel premium. What buyers don’t see is that the rent, the distributor margins and the inventory financing required to keep the floor going are built into the price of every piece sold from it.
Buyers who find Lovelotsdiamond for the first time often ask the same question: why are the prices what they are? The honest answer isn't a sale or a special offer. It's that we don't run the standard jewellery showroom, where the cost of running it returns to the buyer. Here's what that looks like in practice.
What Changes When the Retail Floor Goes
A street-level showroom on Orchard Road, Ion or Marina Bay is one of the most expensive operating environments in Singapore. Retail tenancies on those strips regularly run into five and six figures monthly. That cost is reflected in the price of every piece of fine jewellery sold, boosted by multi-tier distributor markups, the inventory financing required to keep a full showroom stocked, and the marketing spend that drives the footfall.
None of that has anything to do with the quality of the diamond jewellery you walk out with. The cost belongs to the model, not the stone. The price reflects the model, not the diamond.
What Sets Our Model Apart
Lovelotsdiamond sources directly from international supplier networks, including ones in Hong Kong and Japan. We hold a Singapore PMPS licence issued by the Ministry of Law and operate from a private office at Orchard Road, by appointment only. Without the retail cost layers above, the same quality of fine jewellery, the same precious metals and the same certifications can be priced fairly to the buyer.
The savings are not the result of compromised stock. Every piece in our fine jewellery online collection is real: natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, genuine gemstones and precious metals, with certifications and treatments disclosed where applicable. What changes is the model. The product remains exactly what it would be anywhere else.
What a Private Viewing Involves
Appointments at our Orchard Central office are quiet and unhurried. Most run between 30 and 60 minutes, with no fixed agenda and no expectation to decide on the day.
A typical viewing starts with a short conversation about what the fine jewellery piece is for: an engagement ring, an anniversary gift or a diamond pendant that has been sitting on a wish list. From there, we bring out comparable pieces side by side and walk through cut grade, certification and the trade-offs between options.
There’s no shop floor to navigate and no pressure attached to the appointment. Most buyers come for one viewing, take time to consider, and return for a second before committing. For clients who prefer to start remotely, we offer video viewings and WhatsApp consultations before any in-person appointment.
Where the Trust Has to Be Earned

A potential buyer of diamond jewellery gifts has every right to ask hard questions before they come in. At Lovelotsdiamond,we would rather answer those in person and show you the pieces for yourself. That’s the conversation the appointment is for.
